The following is a summary of activities sponsored by the GVMS PTO and volunteer opportunities available.

PTO General Meetings: 9/26 (6.30pm), 11/3 (9am), 2/9 (1pm), 5/3(9am)

AUGUST

  • 8/21 (9-11am) Coffee and Chat: during the 6th grade orientation, the PTO sponsors refreshments and shares volunteer opportunities with MS families

SEPTEMBER

  • 9/12 Picture Day

  • 9/29&9/30 GVMS PTO is partnering with PayMore to enable our GVMS families to turn their pre-owned electronics into cash back - with a portion of each item going back to the GVMS PTO.

OCTOBER

  • 10/5 (6:30pm) Back to School Night: The PTO will provide information on PTO activities and volunteer opportunities for the year. Please stop by our info table to chat or just grab a flyer if you are in a rush.

  • Custodial Workers Appreciations: The PTO sponsored gift cards for the GVMS custodial workers

  • 11/3 9am PTO Meeting: Meeting with Dr. Souders and the PTO to provide GVMS updates and PTO activity status updates. All are welcome to attend.

  • 11/20 Dine and Donate California Pizza Kitchen. Contact- Kelly Hennigan

  • 11/21 Dine and Donate Venice Pizza. Contact- Kelly Hennigan

  • 11/21Teacher and Staff Appreciation Dinner: During November Conferences, the PTO arranges a staff dinner, desserts, and gift card raffle.

  • Bus Driver Thank you: The PTO thanks the bus drivers by providing gift cards at the end of the year.

  • Character Counts Awards at Student Recognition Event: the PTO sponsors educational gift cards for students recognized for character counts. Typically 2 awards are provided per team (18 total).

  • GVHS After Prom Support: The PTO will support the GVHS after prom party by providing funding for the event

  • End of Year Bus Driver Thank you: The PTO thanks the bus drivers

  • 6th Grade Ice Cream Social: the PTO may sponsor an end of the year ice cream social for the 6th graders

  • 7th Grade Henlopen trip support: the PTO may provide funding support for the 7th grade trip to Henlopen, this includes a 3 day/2 night trip for the students
