The GVMS PTO works hard throughout the year to raise funds to support our middle school. One of our objectives is to help preserve the unique educational programs that extend our students’ learning experience beyond the classroom walls and Trip Sponsorship for Amazing Race, Patriot Pride Program, and Spirit Events.
For the 2022-2023 school year, the GVMS PTO has sponsored:
Patriot Pride T-shirts ordered for all teachers
Purchased 14 electronic translators
Provided snacks for the Student Council Halloween School Dance
Stuffed mailboxes for the October Teacher & Staff Appreciation with Spooky Hot Cocoa Eyeballs
Hosted the Teacher Appreciation Dinner in November
Provided Wawa Gift cards to Teachers in December
Provided Gift cards to Bus Drivers in December
Provided coffee and snacks for the Administrative Appreciation Day in April
Provided coffee and various goodies each day during Teacher Appreciation Week in May
Helped organize and provided treats for the 6th grade End Of Year activities
The PTO has been able to fund classroom enhancements requested by teachers in the past such as:
Elmo Projector & Portable camping stove top for family and consumer science team
Auditory phones for 6th grade ELA class, iPad charging station for Computer Applications
ESL student admissions to Franklin Institute Science Museum, a video camera for the TV studio
Microscopes for all the 7th grade science labs, buzzers for the "Quiz-Bowl-Team"
Planters and soil for autistic support, bookmarks, and an updated faculty dining room
The PTO looks forward to sponsoring field trips and events for all grades including:

6th Grade Events/Ice Cream Social
7th Grade Henlopen Trip
8th Grade Amazing Race
Similar to many all-volunteer-run organizations, we are challenged with staffing many of the fundraising activities, which have become strong traditions at Great Valley Middle School.
